Tinubu’s feat unprecedented in Nigerian history’ – Wike on 28 days project commissioning

Daily Post about 1 hour 3 mins read

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike, on Friday, said only President Bola Tinubu’s administration has commissioned 31 projects in 28 days.

Wike said it was unprecedented in the history of Nigeria for any president like Tinubu to commission projects continuously for 28 days.

The minister spoke during the commissioning of reconstructed Arab/Bazango road in Kubwa, Bwari Area Council as part of projects to mark Tinubu’s third year in office.

According to Wike: “It’s unprecedented in the history of this country where a president can commission projects for 28 days, commissioning and flagging off 31 projects, it’s unprecedented in the history of Nigeria.

“So when you see something that is not usual you will see the joy radiating on the faces of the people and I’m sure if you ask the residents of this area they will not allow you to leave here today because for them, it’s the impact of positive governance, it’s government coming home, for them, it’s truly government that cares for the people.

“If they show you the picture of how this road was then, you can’t stop them from rejoicing, you can imagine the economic activities how it was before now when the road was not motorable, then you can imagine those who are carrying out their commerical activities here with the current status of the road, you can see how elated they are.

“Governance is nothing difficult, government or governance is about commitment, government is about making the people and today the people of this area are feeling positively impacted by the administration of Tinubu.”

The Minister also reiterated that the FCT administration under his leadership awarded 317 kilometers of roads, completed 221 kilometers, while 96 kilometers is ongoing.

“Your Excellency, I did say that since the assumption of office by Mr President that contracts, jobs commissioned under the FCDA was 50 then but when we got to 26-27 it became about 53 projects officially commissioned.

“today, I’m trying to separate the Satelliet town that the STTD and projects under the FCDA, as I speak to you since the assumption of Mr President, we have awarded roads in the Satellite Towns of 317 kilometers, in three good years.

“Mr President, let me say that out of the 317 kilometers we have completed 221 kilometers, 96 kilometers is ongoing; this is for the satellite towns. 317 kilometers awarded, 221 completed and 96 ongoing,” he added.
