Turkey: Nigeria coach, Chelle makes U-turn on Osimhen transfer

Daily Post about 2 hours 1 mins read

Super Eagles head coach, Eric Chelle, has made a U-turn on his earlier comments suggesting Victor Osimhen could leave Galatasaray.

Chelle insisted that Osimhen is happy at Galatasaray, adding that he loves the Turkish Super Lig club.

He spoke following Nigeria’s recent international friendly 3-3 draw with Russia in Nizhny Novgorod.

“My previous comments regarding a possible transfer of Osimhen were misinterpreted. Victor loves Galatasaray and the club is happy with him,” Chelle said, as per Habersarikirmizi.

“I consider Osimhen one of the best strikers in the world. When a player performs at this level, there are always transfer rumors surrounding him. I never said that he wanted to leave the club or that he should leave.”

Chelle had earlier, during the summer transfer window, commented on the possibility of Osimhen moving to a bigger club from Galatasaray.
