UEFA Nations League: Two teams qualify for quarter-finals

Daily Post about 1 hour 1 mins read

Two teams have qualified for the quarter-finals of the UEFA Nations League.

They are Portugal and Spain.

La Roja became the latest team to book their spot following a thrilling 2-1 win over Croatia on Tuesday night.

Arsenal midfielder, Mikel Merino, proved to be the hero for the world champions as he scored twice in the match.

It took their tally to 12 points from four fixtures.

Spain join Portugal, who qualified for the final eight last week, after also winning all their games so far.

Two rounds will be played between November 12 and 17 to determine the other teams that progress.

The quarter-final draw follows (from March 25 to 30 in 2027), with the semi-finals set for June 9 to 13 in 2027.

The two worst third-placed sides and the two best fourth-placed sides contest a play-off to beat the drop, while the two worst fourth-placed teams are relegated automatically to the lower league.
