“We Have Olodo Culture, But Blaming Peller Is Unfair” — Daddy Freeze Reacts To Rapper Ycee’s “Olodo Uprising” Comment

Media personality Daddy Freeze has weighed in on the ongoing debate sparked by rapper Ycee’s comments about “Peller culture” and Nigeria’s so-called “Olodo uprising.”

Sharing his thoughts, Daddy Freeze agreed that there is a growing anti-intellectual culture in the country but argued that it is unfair to place the blame on TikTok star, Peller.

“We have an Olodo culture, but it’s not right to put the blame on Peller. It’s not fair putting fault on an intelligent man like Peller,” he said.

According to him, Peller did not create the system but simply found a way to succeed within it.

Daddy Freeze blamed Nigeria’s failing system, revealing that he knows a professor who lectures in paediatric heart surgery but earns ₦700,000 a month.

He argued that education no longer guarantees financial security or a middle-class lifestyle, forcing many young people to look elsewhere for success.

He also compared the rewards given to reality TV stars and outstanding students.

“Imagine a Big Brother winner goes home with ₦100 million, while the best graduating student gets ₦10,000. Which one do you think people will naturally aspire to?” he asked.
