Nigerian singer Emoseh Khamofu, popularly known as Bloody Civilian, has revealed why marriage is currently not part of her plans despite repeated questions from family members about her future.

The 26-year-old artiste made the disclosure while speaking on a recent episode of the Not Just On podcast after being asked: “What is one thing your family still does not get about your life as an artiste?”

Responding, Bloody Civilian said her career has influenced the way she views some of the conventional expectations placed on women, particularly those from Northern Nigeria. She revealed that being an artiste has reshaped her worldview and shifted her stance on the values she was raised with.

According to the singer, some of the values her family expects her to embrace no longer appeal to her, a reality she said her relatives still struggle to understand.

“One thing my family still does not understand about being an artiste is that certain conventional things they expect of a woman from the North are simply not things I am excited to do,” she said.

Speaking specifically about marriage, Bloody Civilian said it is not something she is currently considering, even though the subject is frequently raised by family members.

“For instance, marriage is not something I am thinking of at all. But that question keeps being brought up,” she added.

Bloody Civilian has built a reputation for her bold personality and outspoken views, often sharing candid opinions on issues relating to her life, career and societal expectations.
