The Nigerian presidency has hinted on the reason it accepts, rehabilitates and reunites repentant terrorists into the society.
Featuring in an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Wednesday, presidential spokesman, Daniel Bwala, said some of the terrorists are children who were recruited against their own wishes.
He said, “When Boko Haram started to lose their members they go to villages and carry Children and take them to the bush and recruit them, these are the people you recruited against their will.
“If something happens in the camp and they escape they come to Nigeria government, and they said they have repented, the Nigeria will not shoot them.
“If a terrorist comes out and tells you that he has repented or he has turned away from his conduct, you will take them and profile them.
“When you hear the word “profile, it is all encompassed. The profiling assists the Nigerian government to a large extent in collecting further intelligence on them in knowing their modus operandi, and as well as in planning to attack them.”
