JOS — Two people have lost their lives in separate violent incidents in Barkin Ladi and Riyom Local Government Areas of Plateau State.

The victims were identified as 58-year-old community leader, Mr. Daniel Pulle, and Mrs. Deborah Benjamin Kak, who died from injuries sustained in an earlier attack.

The incidents were disclosed in a statement issued on Sunday by the National Publicity Secretary of the Berom Youth Moulders (BYM), Mr. Rwang Tengwong.

According to the statement, Pulle, the community leader of Gana-Ropp in Ropp District of Barkin Ladi Local Government Area, was attacked at about 7:55 p.m. on Sunday while returning home on his motorcycle.

The group said he was shot near a bridge leading to the community.

In a separate incident, Mrs. Kak, who sustained gunshot injuries during an attack on her residence in Lwa village, Bachi District of Riyom Local Government Area on June 26, died on Sunday at the Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH), where she had been receiving treatment.

The Berom Youth Moulders expressed concern over the continued violence and loss of lives in affected communities and called for intensified security measures to protect residents and prevent further attacks.

Efforts to obtain the reaction of the spokesperson for the Plateau State Police Command, SP Alfred Alabo, were unsuccessful as of the time of filing this report.
