OSOGBO — Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has assured residents of Ife South Local Government Area of continued investment in rural development and infrastructure if re-elected, saying his administration’s achievements across the state speak for themselves.

Adeleke gave the assurance during the campaign tour of the area, where he was received by residents, traditional rulers and community leaders.

According to a statement by the governor’s spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, the campaign train was welcomed at Awolowo Town by the Olu of Awolowo, Oba Yekinni Olayemi Olasoji Omisore, and the Olubosin of Ifetedo, Oba Akinola Oyetade Akinrera, alongside about 90 traditional rulers and 120 Baales, who commended the governor’s performance and expressed support for his re-election bid.

At the palace of the Olu of Awolowo, prayers were offered for the governor’s re-election by representatives of the Christian, Muslim and traditional faiths, while the Olubosin of Ifetedo reaffirmed his loyalty to the governor and the Ooni of Ife.

Accompanied by Deputy Governor Kola Adewusi, Director-General of the Campaign, Senator Lere Oyewumi, Deputy Director-General Kolapo Alimi, Accord Party State Chairman Victor Akande, Chairman of the Campaign Publicity Committee Bamidele Salam and other party leaders, Adeleke pledged to sustain what he described as good governance across the state.

“Wherever we go in Osun, our good work speaks for us. We have touched every local government with infrastructure and other development projects. We will do even more if re-elected,” the governor said.

During the visit, Adeleke commissioned a three-kilometre road in Ifetedo and promised to address the community’s long-standing electricity challenges.

“Once we are re-elected, we will break the jinx of inadequate power supply in this town. Our Ministry of Energy has already completed the necessary groundwork,” he said.

The governor also pledged increased attention to rural infrastructure, healthcare and education, promising to recruit more medical personnel to strengthen healthcare delivery in the state.

Speaking while unveiling medical equipment donated by Yusuf Ali, SAN, to a health facility in Ifetedo, Adeleke said a second term would enable his administration to employ more workers in the health and education sectors.

He maintained that his administration’s record of performance justified its bid for another term in office.
