World Cup: Scaloni addresses Messi, Martinez’s future with Argentina after Spain defeat

Argentina coach, Lionel Scaloni, has addressed the speculation surrounding the future of captain, Lionel Messi and goalkeeper, Emiliano Martinez with the Albiceleste following their World Cup final defeat to Spain on Sunday.

Reports had emerged about the continuity of Messi and Martinez with the Argentina national football team.

Scaloni was asked about the subject during an interview with TyC Sports after arriving in Argentina.

He said (via GOAL), “After a tournament like this with normal things, I think one starts to rethink things.

“Until December, we are here. The most important thing about all this is how things happened. The people knew how to understand that the team gave everything, and then what happened later. The most important thing is always Argentina,” he said.
